The trail starts by crossing a wooden bridge across East Elk Creek. I just completed this route the July 11-15, 2022. Coming down from hunchback pass we had to climb over or around several (and I mean several) trees that were across the path. Outfitter-guides who receive any form of compensation must obtain a special-use permit to operate on public land. Lots of shade and tree cover, wild flowers, and little critters. No wildflowers yet, would wait a couple weeks and do this early June for the prettiest hike!
